Description

Asobombo is a coffee farmers’ cooperative from the Huila region in southern Colombia, uniting around 170 small producers. Half of the cooperative's members are women who actively participate in coffee production and community development. The farms are located at elevations between 1,600 and 2,000 meters above sea level, which contributes to the cultivation of high-quality coffee.

The cooperative specializes in organic coffee certified under the USDA Organic standard. The main varieties grown by its members include Caturra, Pink Bourbon, Castillo, and Geisha. The processing method is fully washed, with fermentation lasting 12 to 36 hours, followed by drying on raised beds or patios.

Asobombo actively invests in the development of its members by providing training in agronomy, sustainable agriculture, and coffee quality improvement. The cooperative also supports food security and gender equality initiatives, including organic gardening and women’s education.
