The berries for this lot were collected in the Caldas region, and decaffeinated using an organic caffeine solvent - ethyl acetate. This method removes 97% of the caffeine from coffee, while leaving all the taste of the drink.

Description of the process of decaffeination of coffee using ethyl acetate.

Ethyl acetate is an organic compound and by-product of fruit fermentation, found, for example, in ripe bananas and beer. That is why the decaffeination process using this solvent is called natural. The ethyl acetate used to decaffeinate this lot was obtained from sugar cane grown. The plant takes water for decaffeination from springs from the Navado el Ruiz volcano, located between the departments of Tolima and Caldas. The decaffeination process begins with steaming the beans, which improves their porosity. After which they are placed in a water solution with ethyl acetate, which removes 97% of the caffeine from the grain. Repeated steaming removes ethyl acetate from the grain, after which the grain is dried to standard moisture content.

If you are entitled to a return, we will refund your purchase price and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment.

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items are non-refundable.
